Running Man

I think Jesse might have an aneurism this week. The Sports Guy is doing a running diary of the first round of the NCAA Tournament with updates coming approximately every hour or so. I wonder how many truck stops will have to pull over so he can read it... and then I'll have to read it, and with the rate at which I read, this drive could turn into a 45 hour event which could be a great premise for a made-for-tv movie, at the climax of which one of the three of us turns on another and kills him, but its not the one you think and then the other two have to figure out what to do with the body and third man is having a huge inner-conflict about whether or not to turn in a good friend for killing another good friend.

I'm not sure how I got from The Sports Guy to a bad idea for a cliche made-for-tv movie just prime for the USA Network.

Anyway, you should check out the running diary... he has two friends of his there with him so it won't be 100% Red Sox comments and comparisons, just a few once in a while and his friends say some pretty funny things.

Until The Next.

Cowboy Jesus?!?

Oh yeah, in case you missed this week's episode of The Inferno on MTV, yeah I suck for watching it, you missed THE SINGLE MOST OUTRAGEOUS COMMENT from a Real World/Road Rules cast member. This is the number one most unintentionally funny funny moment in the history of the show. Challenge me.

(Stolen from the Sports Guy's site): "Just as Jesus sacrificed himself for all of us, maybe this is a chance for me to do that for my team. The inferno could be like the hell, and then I could, you know, step up and take the place of somebody like Christ did for us on the Cross."
-- Cowboy John on volunteering to take The Miz's place in the Inferno on the "Real World/Road Rules Challenge"

I think Cowboy John needs to get a grip and a perspective on some things. Wow. I don't say this much because it is pretty harsh, but somebody should shoot him.

Until Tomorrow.

In Brief

Today was my first day working at Jeff and Jim's Pizza on Water Street. That's right, I got a job. A lot of people who came in compared it to Ian's in Madison. So if you are in EC, I recommend dropping in to check it out,

It is actually pretty fun; I'm even starting to get the hang of tossing pizza dough around.

NCAA Tournament First Round on Thurs and Fri, and because of work, school, and driving to Florida, I will not see any first round games. Shit. That sucks, but what are you going to do?

My Final Four: Duke, Illinois, Wake, Florida.

I downloaded two new albums last week. Me First and the Gimme Gimmes', "Ruin Johnny's Bar Mitzfah." And Lagwagon, "Live at a Dive" Both are pretty entertaining but aren't going to receive top marks from me.

Spring Break, can't get here soon enough. I absolutely cannot wait to sit around for a week on a beach, in the sun, getting fatter, getting dumber, getting drunker, blowing my bank account. Ah... good be one of the top 5 best weeks of my life.

I'm going to be keeping a running diary of the event down there that will be transferred to my blog so you can experience as much of my trip as I can get down on paper.

You all need to read Jim Caple's articles over the next few weeks as he spends them living on college campuses, doing things college kids do, and the living the dream of millions of baby boomers. Sorry I didn't link you, it's late and I'm tired.

Until Tomorrow.

Paint Crew Barrel Races

I was digging through the picture archives and I came accross this gem from the end of the summer Paint Crew party... fuck that was a kick ass night. Team Tongue Jack v. Team Shit Box. When is the rematch???

Every generation has a moment like this, we've had two so far...

Do you remember where you were when Beast changed its logo?

Sharing the Wealth

There's an interesting phenomena that exists in our society.

People love to witness other people's hardship, so I offer you mine
as your entertainment.

Just another horrendous, very brief run of bad luck...

In case you don't remember my last poker post, I lost about 115 bucks in the span of 7 minutes...
This time I only lost about 75 bucks in about the same amount of time.

And here's the thing, given the same situations again, I wouldn't do a single thing different,
so I guess taking solice in that will allow me to forget about these hands.

In case you don't know, I am the CoolerKing.

I'm not going to walk you through these, but if you're interested, go ahead and laugh at my ass.

Yep. I swore a lot this afternoon.

Until The Next Time.

If you go to UM-Duluth, be sure her brother sees this.

Much Ado About Night 2

Day 2...

It started a little slower and with less anticipation and energy than night 1, but it quickly caught up and things were just as they should have been.

We started playing Chinese Poker and Liar's Poker over some beers while people slowly trickled in. First to arrive were three girls nobody knew. Zach dropped off then went to pick up some other dudes, which was cool.

Johnson had two words to describe these freshman chicks: "Hot and Dumb."

But before I knew it, the house was filling with people and I was selling keg cups and shots.

I hate being "that guy."

Random Person: "Where do I get a cup?"
Roommate (pointing at me): "That guy."

Then I have to ask them for money and feel like I'm selling a used car on which I rolled back the odometer.

But that didn't stop me from pestering all the freshman ladies in the house to buy shots, which they were more than willing to do.

Of the 240 dollars we spent we made about 190 or so back, I think. I guess that's not so bad, considering we've never ever even come to close to breaking even when we've had a party.

After we were all starting to get noticeably drunk, we sat down to play another variation of poker. I coined the game "Moron's Poker." It goes like this: It's set up and dealt just like hold 'em. Once everyone has their cards, they can decide if they want in or not. If they are in, they throw a dollar into the pot, if they are out, they just fold, thus the title Moron's Poker. I was killing in this before we went to the bar. I hit all the flops I played.

Then I went to the bar and Shee-nan's stole all my money. Again.

One highlight of the night occurred just before we were going to leave for the bar. I looked out the front door and saw a couple older guys walking up the porch to our door.

I was thinking to myself, "I don't know these people, they're not cops, what's going on..."

When they got to the door I opened it up and they came in and said, "Hey, is this where the party is?"

I said of course and immediately poured shots for the three couples who were out celebrating a few birthdays at the Legion.

One guy held is shot glass in the air and said, "Wausau West Left Tackle 1980."

So I held my glass in the air and said, "Wausau East Tight End and QB 2002."

We cheered and took 'er down. Then he asked for another, so we did another. Then he thought that he and I should do a third Bacardi shot, so we did a third. I am very certain that those three Bacardi shots contributed to my blackout period of the night.

After they left we find out that the Left Tackle from West was indeed their driver. Good thing he did three shots.

One of the guys asked where the pot was, a couple of the ladies went into the kitchen to get some beers. Someone asked one of the guys where his wife was and he said, "Oh, she's upstairs with some guy, she'll be back in a little bit."

So six random baby boomers stopped in for a few shots, that was fun.

The rest of the stories from the night are pretty much not publishable, for good or for bad.

This weekend was the perfect precursor to Spring Break.

Jesse and I both bombed our history tests today. So that's sweet.

This week can't end soon enough. Bring me to PCB!

Until Then.
